The Queer Book Club was founded by Aaron Ho in 2011. It is an all-inclusive, non-discriminatory group. Everyone, regardless of sexuality, age, gender, sex, class and race, is welcome.

Interested participants can join and contact them on Facebook[1].

Members meet on the third Thursday of every month. Discussions focus on queer literature, rotating between three categories: (1) gay; (2) lesbian; and (3) transsexual/ transgender/ bisexual/ intersexual/ queer novels.

They also meet for LGBT movies once every two months and rotate amongst the three categories listed above.

The header picture used for their website is cropped from “Library After Air Raid, London, 1940,” demonstrating that reading is vital to living and is perhaps more important than survival. During the Second World War, the UK Finance Minister asked Winston Churchill to cut the budget for the arts, to which he replied, “Then what are we fighting for?”
